Shoppers in Joel Street and pupils coming out of school were amazed and delighted to see London Mayor Boris Johnson in The Broadway on Thursday 4th December. He was there to unveil a plaque to commemorate the £2 million refurbishment of the shopping centre and to see for himself the difference it had made. He went into several shops during his walkabout and spent time admiring the new murals at the station.
He said, "Northwood Hills is an important hub supporting a range of shops and services. The improvements that I have seen here today are a great example of how my regeneration fund is helping to spruce up town centres and high streets across London, rejuvenating area for local communities to enjoy and helping enterprises to thrive." He added, "I think it's all fantastic, really imaginative. I'm very proud."
