On Saturday 15th November 2014 at least a thousand people turned up to see performers from all five local schools, plus special guest Cherish Bristow. The Christmas Lights were switched on by the Mayor of Hillingdon, Councillor Catherine Dann.
There were also free mince pies & mulled cider, plus a Tombola stall. For the younger children, Santa was in his Grotto giving free gifts. Many of the shops also had special offers.
Our special thanks to The Namaste Lounge for providing the venue. Thanks also to the many local businesses and organisations who have sponsored the event:
Argyle House, Ati's Fish Shop, Bennett Holmes, Fairfield, Catherine Fry, David Graham Associates, Harrold Opticians, Haydon School, InToto Kitchens, Lulabelles, London Borough of Hillingdon, Nails & Co, Nisa, Portuguese Cafe, The Post Office, Ross Pharmacy, The Scouts, St John's School, Tesco, Trims, Wenzels, The William Jolle. And to the many individuals who helped set up, dismantle and steward on the day.
The Library's Christmas Craft activities were also well-attended. (See their Facebook page for a report.)
